It is ruled by Saturn, but its deity is Brhaspati, the divine teacher of the devas, the embodiment of wisdom, devotion, guidance, and sacred knowledge. And Brhaspati is not separate from Vishnu tattva.

He is the Ansh, the essence, the ray of Lord Vishnu. That is why Pushya carries a very rare balance. On one side, there is Saturn, that is discipline, karma, effort, duty, endurance, service.

On the other side, there is Brhaspati, wisdom, grace, righteousness, guidance, divine intelligence. And when discipline joins hands with wisdom, something truly auspicious is born. That is Pushya.

Pushya is one of those nakshatras that nourishes, protects, uplifts, and stabilises. It is emotional by nature, it is humble by nature, it is modest by nature, and most importantly, it carries a deep desire to serve. Whenever Thursday, Guruvar, falls on Pushya nakshatra, that combination is called Guru-Pushya-Amrit-Yog.

One of the most auspicious timing known in Moharta. This itself tells you how sacred and powerful Pushya nakshatra really is. Pushya is not merely good, Pushya is blessed.

One significant question comes is that how past karma is burned. Always remember something very important. There are only two ways through which you can burn your past sins, your past karmic heaviness.

The first is chanting. The second is serving others without any agenda. Only these two things, if you do these two things consistently, with faith, with love, with sincerity, then slowly, slowly, the fog of misery starts disappearing.

And I have seen this in real life. So this is very, very realistic. And the beauty is this, that for both these things, you do not need money.

You need only a beautiful heart. People cry and say, I am suffering because of black magic. But the deeper truth is not so simple.

It is not only because someone has targeted you. Many a times, the real reason is your own past karma. Your own karmic imbalance makes you more vulnerable.

That is why the real focus should never be obsession with fear. The real focus should be purification of your karma. And this purification happens only through these two means, chanting the mantra and selfless service.

But who wants to listen? People are ready to spend lakhs of rupees on harming others, on black magic, on revenge, on hidden manipulation. But ask them to spend on feeding the poor, helping a helpless person, serving the society. They will hesitate.

That is ignorance. And one day, this ignorance comes back to bite the very person who nourished it. One day the same karma returns.

And when it returns, nobody can protect you. That is why always restrain yourself from bad karma. And such restraint becomes possible only when you begin meditating and chanting daily.

The very essence of Pushya is to set one’s house in order. On the material level, Pushya works toward attaining a comfortable, settled, stable life. On the spiritual level, the same Pushya works toward self-transformation and self-growth.

There is a very beautiful secret here. All three nakshatras ruled by Saturn fall in deeply emotional signs. Pushya falls in Cancer.

Anuradha falls in Scorpio. Uttara Bhadrapada falls in Pisces. And these three nakshatras belong to the Moksha Trikona.

4, 8, 12. Meaning the triangle that leads one to liberation. So what does this tell you? It tells you that Saturn is not only the planet of suffering, Saturn is also deeply connected to Moksha, liberation.

Why? Because Moksha or liberation is possible only when your karmic account is exhausted. And Karma is Saturn’s territory. Always remember, there are three types of Karma.

When it comes to Karma, there are three types. There is Sanchit Karma, the whole reservoir of your many past births. Then there is Prarabdha Karma, the portion of your past karma, which is now ripening in this present birth.

And then there is Kriyaman Karma, the karma you are creating now, daily, through your thoughts, actions, motives and choices. You cannot do much about Sanchit Karma immediately. You cannot erase Prarabdha Karma overnight.

Those accounts are already written. But Kriyaman Karma, this daily karma that is still in your hands, that is where remedies help. That is where prayer helps.

That is where mantra chanting helps. That is where awareness helps. And the greatest remedy of all remedies is daily mantra chanting, done with consistency, faith and love.

But again, who wants to listen? People want shortcuts. They want miracles without inner work. They want results without correction.

But miracles begin only when you start working on yourself. In Buddhism, there is no permanent concept of sin. There are only mistakes and mistakes can be corrected, but only if you are willing to.

Saturn is social by nature. A person with a strong Saturn often wants to contribute something to society. Pushya being a nakshatra of Saturn brings a deep desire to serve the society, to uplift people, to help something larger than oneself.

The Pushya native sooner or later is drawn toward service, toward guidance, toward responsibility, toward social upliftment. Pushya loves to serve, but Pushya also loves structure. And because Saturn represents authority, Pushya often desires positions of responsibility.

This nakshatra is good for governance, good for administration, good for social work, good for institutional leadership, good for roles where nurturing and discipline must work together. Pushya can help the native attain high positions in life, but only when the rest of the horoscope supports it. The sacred tree of Pushya nakshatra is the peepal tree, a highly spiritual tree.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says, among all the trees, I am the peepal tree. That itself is enough to understand the great holiness of this beautiful tree. For Pushya natives, peepal tree is extremely beneficial.

If you are born with moon in Pushya or sun in Pushya or Rahu in Pushya, then worshipping the peepal tree every Saturday can bring immense blessings. How to worship it? Very simple. Because God is simple.

Take seven pradakshinas around the peepal tree. Offer water. Light diya with sesame oil.

Offer some sweets. Offer haldi kumkum with devotion. That is all.

If done every Saturday, sincerely and without show, a great positive change begins to happen in your life. But again, people want complicated remedies. They forget that real solutions are usually simple.

Now let us come to one of the most important drawbacks of Pushya nakshatra. Pushya can pull the native into the idea of doership. The sense of I am doing everything.

I am the one making things happen. I am the saviour. I am the responsible one.

And this creates inner burden. It reminds me of a beautiful story. A person boarded a train and took his seat.

But the luggage that he carried with him remained on his head. His fellow travellers were surprised and asked him why he was still keeping the luggage on his head. The man said he did not want to add to the burden of the train, which was already overloaded.

The fellow travellers were amused and one of them said to him, you seem to be a crazy man. Even if you carry the load on your head, it is going to be a load on the train. Why carry an unnecessary burden on your head? Isn’t it stupid? The man burst out in laughter and said, I had thought you were householders, but you all seem to be sannyasis.

And this man was a real sannyasi. He said, I carry the bag on my head in order to conform to the ways of the world. I wonder why you laugh at me.

I see all of you carrying the burden of the world on your heads. Although you know that like this train, it is God who bears all our burdens. I just wanted to conform to your ways.

And then the man not only put the bag down on the train, but seated himself on it, saying this is the right way a sannyasi should sit. He is not a doer. Everything just happens.

One who understands the beauty of non-action enters the state of inaction, which is acting without ego. That is the teaching. As long as you think you are the doer, you remain burdened.

Bhagwan Ravan Maharshi says so beautifully, The present difficulty is that man thinks he is the doer. It is the higher power which does everything. Man is only a tool.

And this is very important for Kusha natives. Do good work. Serve the society.

Lead institutions. Guide people. But do not let the ego of I am doing accumulate inside you.

Instead, remain aware I am only a tool. The doer is God. It happened once, a great king had come to know that Buddha is arriving in his capital.

And so he was very excited. The whole capital city gathered to welcome Buddha. The king himself was present to receive the master.

Buddha arrived at the palace. The king gave a golden throne to Buddha to sit. Buddha sat on the throne.

The real emperor was now seated on the throne. The king was deeply moved by this rare moment. He decided to offer Buddha the most precious gift.

He had one beautiful golden ornament, priceless, with many jewels in it. It was the most precious ornament that he had. A rare piece of art.

He stepped ahead to present it to Buddha, just to show his devotion. He came near. In his left hand was that priceless jewelled ornament.

He was going to present it. Buddha looked at it and said, Drop it. He was disturbed.

He never expected this. He was shocked. But Buddha was saying, Drop it.

And so he dropped it. In his other hand, that is in his right hand, he had brought a beautiful rose. He thought that Buddha might not like stones.

He might just think that this was childish thing that he had bought. But it was good to have an alternative. So he brought a beautiful rose.

A rose is not so gross, not so material. It has a spirituality. Something of the unknown is there and Buddha might like it because he says life is flux.

And the flower is in the morning. And in the evening, it is no more. It is the most flux-like thing in the world.

So he put his other hand in front of Buddha and he wanted to present the flower. Buddha again said, Drop it. Then he felt very disturbed.

Now he had nothing to present. But when Buddha again said to drop it, he dropped it. Then suddenly he became aware of the I. He thought, Why am I presenting things when I can present myself? When he became aware, with both his hands empty, he presented himself.

But Buddha again said, Drop it. Now he had nothing to drop. Just empty hands.

And Buddha said, Drop it. Mahakasyapa, Ananda and Buddha’s other disciples were present. They started laughing.

The king became aware that even to say that I present myself to you is egoistic. Even to say, Now I am here and I surrender to you is not surrender. So he himself fell down.

In deep humility, he bowed before Buddha. Buddha smiled and said, You understand well. Surrender should be seen through your action.

Just saying I surrender to you is not enough. The master should see you actually surrendering through your actions and not just words. Surrender is the journey from outer turmoil to inner peace.

That is Pushya at its highest. Duty without ego. Responsibility without burden.

Service without self-importance. Now understand one thing very deeply. The deity of Pushya Nakshatra is Brhaspati, the Guru of the Devas.

And Brhaspati is the Ansha, the ray, the living essence of Lord Vishnu. That is why chanting Vishnu mantras become highly beneficial for Pushya natives. You may chant or you chant the great Vishnu mantra Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya Chant it 108 times in the morning and evening.

This attracts prosperity, good health, mental peace, wisdom, guidance, spiritual protection and sattvic stability in life. Pushya needs nourishment and mantra is nourishment for the soul. Now let us go deeper into the four padas of Pushya.

Because not every Pushya expresses itself in the same way. Pushya Pada 1 When the moon falls in the first pada of Pushya, the native becomes more action-orientated in service. This is Pushya that wants to build, manage, organise and protect.

There is emotional strength here but also visible leadership. Such a person may feel responsible from a young age. They often become the one others depend on.

They may do well in administrative roles, structured professions, government-linked work or family leadership. But they must be careful not to become too hard while trying to be responsible. Pushya Pada 2 When the moon moves into the second pada of Pushya, the nurturing quality deepens.

The native becomes more caring, more family-orientated, more emotionally invested in the welfare of loved ones. Such people may become excellent teachers, caregivers, counsellors, homemakers, healers or nurturers of institutions. This is often a very soft and protective placement.

But here too, there is one lesson. Do not suffocate others through over-care. Love should nourish, not imprison.

Remember this. Pushya Pada 3 When the moon enters the third pada of Pushya, intellect and communication become stronger. This Pushya wants to advise, instruct, guide and influence.

The native may speak well, teach well, counsel well and often becomes respected for practical wisdom. These are the people others come to for advice. They may do well in education, law administration, consulting, healing or public service.

But they should remember, wisdom is not domination. Advice should flow from humility, not superiority. Pushya Pada 4 When the moon falls in the fourth pada of Pushya, the spiritual and emotional depth becomes stronger.

This is a very inward, devotional, sensitive and karmically rich placement. Such a native may go through emotional burdens early in life, but later becomes mature, compassionate and inwardly wise. This pada can create genuine spiritual growth, especially when Saturn and Jupiter are well-placed.

These natives can become deeply prayerful, service-driven and quietly luminous. This is Pushya not merely as a caretaker, but as a silent spiritual strength. Now let us come to the Daan, the donation remedy for Pushya nakshatra.

Since Pushya is ruled by Saturn and its deity is Brihaspati, the best donation remedy is that which combines service, humility, nourishment and dharma. For Pushya natives, highly beneficial daan or donation includes donating food to the poor, feeding monks, sadhus or genuinely needy people, supporting education of underprivileged children, donating yellow lentils or chana dal on Thursdays, offering black sesame oil or sesame seeds on Saturdays, helping elderly people, serving cows, supporting temple seva or quietly funding someone’s medicine, schooling or nourishment. The highest Pushya daan is this.

Help someone stand without announcing that you helped them. That is true Pushya. Service without noise.

Help without ego. Care without display. And if you want a very simple and powerful weekly practise, then on Thursday or Saturday, feed a poor person with your own hands and chant inwardly “Om Namo Narayanaya” That single act can purify much of your karma.

Pushya nakshatra is auspicious because it nourishes, it uplifts, it protects, it disciplines, it guides, it teaches the soul how to serve without becoming proud, how to lead without becoming arrogant, and how to care without becoming controlling. I bow down to this sacred nakshatra of nourishment, wisdom and divine order. May Pushya bless all my listeners with humility, good health, peace of mind, right livelihood, spiritual wisdom and the grace to serve selflessly.

Om Namo Narayanaya

Jai Sri Ganesha.
