Kritika is a highly spiritual nakshatra. If there is any one word that would define kritika, that one word is brilliance.

Kritika has the brilliance of the sun and it is only through kritika that you can overcome the many obstacles and hurdles of your life. Because the sun has that power, the power to cut through, the power to rise above, the power to achieve the goal, the dream, the mission. And so to me, kritika is indeed one of the most beautiful nakshatras.

I have mentioned many details on kritika and specifically what happens when the moon falls in kritika nakshatra. Kritika wants action. Action is what kritika wants.

Kritika is closely related to lord kartik and lord kartikeya was a great kshatriya warrior. He was the brother of shri ganesha and was known for his courage. In south india, he is known as lord murugan.

He is the warrior god and so when the moon falls in kritika nakshatra, the person becomes a highly action orientated person. This is a rare quality because many people continue to dream but they never take the necessary action. To achieve your dreams, you need to act first.

And that is exactly what moon in kritika natives are good at. They take action, they are highly action orientated fellows. They will simply jump first and then think later.

In one of the greatest books of wisdom, Dasa Bodha, written by saint Samartha Ramdaswamy, it is mentioned in marathi language which means, by doing it happens. So first you should do it. Only by taking action can you achieve your dreams, your goals, your mission.

A true seeker should read this wonderful book Dasa Bodha. Dasa means servant, Bodha means self-realisation. Around 500 years ago, Samartha Ramdaswamy, the guru of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj scripted this divine book and now it is being translated into English for a wider reach.

Kritika is good at taking action but it depends on the quality of your horoscope. Are you an evolved soul? Are you meditative? Because only then can you use this action-orientated power for a good cause, for a higher purpose. My birthright is a very favourite phrase of moon kritika natives.

They want to secure their rights, human rights, legal rights, and they want to ensure they get what they are entitled to. An evolved moon kritika native will never tolerate injustice. They will fight back for justice.

Remember, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Moon kritika native rejoice when they fight back and attain the crown of righteousness. And it is always good to have a friend with moon in kritika.

Because when you are being mistreated, sidelined, humiliated, these are the people who will stand by you and say, don’t worry, I am here for you. Kritika natives remain with you when the whole world goes against you. They are the karna of this modern age.

That reminds me of a beautiful story. The story of two friends on the backdrop of the second world war. Two soldiers were very friendly, great friends.

One evening, one soldier comes back to the trench, but finds that his friend has not yet returned. Many people have been killed on the front. He becomes afraid.

Is his friend killed? He enquires and then somebody says, we are not certain that he is killed, but he was so terribly wounded that it was impossible for him to come to the trench. By now he must be dead. It is getting dark now and the enemy is still firing madly.

But the soldier wants to go and search for his friend. The officer says, no, this is foolish, but he doesn’t listen to the officer. He goes.

It is very difficult in the dark and there are thousands of dead bodies all around. He looks and looks and in the middle of the night, he returns, dragging his friend’s dead body on his back. He himself is now terribly wounded.

He also cannot survive. The moment he reaches the trench, he falls on the floor with the body of his dead friend. The officer comes and says, I told you not to be foolish.

It was not worth it. Now you know what you have done to yourself. The friend is dead and you are dying too.

The dying man opened his eyes and he said, but it was worth it. Because when I went there, he looked at me and he said, Jim, I knew you would come. For love, life can be sacrificed.

My fellows, it is worth it. We have been taught just the contrary. Sacrifice everything just to be alive, just to survive.

But the master teaches you to be loving, to sacrifice everything for a higher cause. Such is the spirit of Kritika Nakshatra. The spirit of love, the spirit of courage, the spirit of righteousness.

Unfortunately, many people and so-called pandits have defamed this beautifully fiery nakshatra simply because they cannot stand the truth. They are wolves, not tigers like Kritika. People having moon in Kritika generally don’t like retirement.

Retirement is not something they desire. They want to continue working until their last breath. The wise never retire.

I have been with great spiritual masters and I have seen them fully active in serving people until their last breath. So even if official retirement comes, you should remain active, serving, building, contributing. Now understand this carefully.

Kritika falls across Aries and Taurus. So it carries two powerful energies. From Aries, it gets fierce courage, the warrior spirit, the ability to cut through, the fire to initiate.

From Taurus, it gets persistence, the ability to hold ground, to build, to accumulate, to work patiently, to stabilise life. That is why Kritika is not only fiery, it is also hardworking. It is not only courageous, it is also steady.

And because it is ruled by the sun, this heat is not Martian. Mars hotness is sexual, sun’s hotness is spiritual. Understand the difference.

Placed in fiery Aries and persistent Taurus, Kritika is fired up to get things done. The courage to take risks, the fire to learn, the sharpness to lead. When moon is placed in Kritika, these qualities become even stronger.

Ethics, truth, sincerity, leadership, these qualities come naturally to a moon Kritika native. And when it comes to women having moon in Kritika, they are born fighters. A woman born with moon in Kritika is indeed the tomboy of the house.

She takes responsibility, she takes charge, she can support parents, she will never give up, she is a born fighter, she can even become a powerful single mom. Kritika can carve its own name in gold. It gives uniqueness to your individuality.

Once someone asked me what is the spiritual significance of Kritika nakshatra? And my answer is Kritika is also connected with Lord Dattatreya. Lord Dattatreya is represented with three faces, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, symbolising mastery of all three gunas. One who worships Lord Dattatreya attains blessings of all the three devatas.

Now the bridge that connects Kritika with Lord Dattatreya is the holy Audhumbar tree, also known as Udambar, the cluster fig tree. Those who have moon in Kritika should worship this divine tree on every Thursdays. Across India, especially Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat, Audhumbar is worshipped by devotees of Lord Dattatreya.

And Bhagwan Raman Maharshi reveals the significance of Lord Dattatreya so beautifully. The universal guru who learned from the whole world, from good and evil both. This is the highest intelligence, constant learning, constant awareness, constant transformation.

Now the first nakshatra of our galaxy is Ashwini, ruled by Ketu, from nothingness we are born. The second nakshatra is Bharani, ruled by Venus, the human body and its pleasures, fertility, organs, life force. And the third nakshatra is Kritika, ruled by Sun.

The body is formed but consciousness and awareness come through the divine light of the Sun, Suryadev. That is why Kritika is brilliance, that is why Kritika is spiritual fire. Now since Kritika is ruled by the Sun, the greatest solution for Kritika natives is to align with the Sun through discipline, purity, chanting and daily spiritual action.

The Ishta Devata of those born with moon in Kritika is Lord Ram. Because Sri Ram belongs to the Suryavamsha, the dynasty of the Sun. So along with Surya worship, chanting Lord Ram’s name becomes extremely powerful.

Chant this daily mantra with devotion, Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram And then the 12 Surya mantras, recite those mantras daily. And the 12 Surya mantras are Om Mitraya Namaha Om Ravaya Namaha Om Suryaya Namaha Om Bhanavaya Namaha Om Khagaya Namaha Om Pushnaya Namaha Om Hiranya Garbhaya Namaha Om Arikshaya Namaha Om Adityaya Namaha Om Savitraya Namaha Om Arkaya Namaha Om Bhaskaraya Namaha Surya Kritika born natives should daily recite these 12 Surya mantras for good health and happiness in life. Doing Surya Namaskar daily is also extremely beneficial for natives born with moon in Kritika.

And performing Hom or Havan is beneficial too because Agni, fire is also connected with Kritika. But remember, chanting must not be parrot-like. If you chant with no devotion, nothing changes.

Chant with love, with surrender, with feeling. Then the mantra enters the heart. Then the sun awakens within.

And now I will reveal certain donation that will help you to improve your life. So let me give you simple and powerful daan remedy for Kritika. Because Kritika is sun ruled and Lord Ram is the Ishta Devata.

Your donation should reflect righteousness, service, discipline, protection of dharma, support for the weak. So what should you donate? Donate wheat, jaggery, copper or red or orange cloth on Sundays. Support education of underprivileged children, especially by donating notebooks, school fees, stationery, because sun is dignity, knowledge, future.

Donate to temples or organisations that feed people, annadaan, because sun sustains life. And one of the most beautiful daans for Lord Ram devotees is support Gau Seva. Donate fodder for cows or support a gaushala, because dharma is protected by such service.

Do this daans with one inner prayer. May my brilliance become humility. May my power become service.

May my fire become consciousness. And so to such a sharp, fiery, brilliant nakshatra of the sun, Kritika, I humbly prostrate. May all my followers be blessed by its divine light.

Jai Shri Ganesha.
