Yesterday a man asked a beautiful question: is the Moon–Ketu conjunction a “Viṣa yoga” (a poison-like affliction)? In truth, it is Śiva yoga, not a curse. “Viṣa” signifies poison—but Ketu is the negation of Moon (mind). When you enter the domain of no-mind, you can attain bliss, peace and joy. Hence the charts of many enlightened masters feature a close Moon–Ketu connection. Just as Lord Śiva alone drank the poison at the churning of the ocean to save the world, the Moon–Ketu yoga lets you do what others cannot: leap first and think later.
“Follow me,” said Jesus to Peter the fisherman. Peter knew nothing of theology or intellect; he was a man of heart. He cast aside his nets and became the “fisher of men”—Saint Peter.
That is the power of Ketu. It leads you to the heights of consciousness by emptying the mind. A cup is useful because it is empty; once full, it serves no purpose. The more you remain unoccupied by thought, the more your meditation flourishes. You need no techniques—when mind disappears, meditation is.
Why Moon–Ketu Is Śiva Yoga, Not Poison
- Ketu “distorts” the mind so the mind dissolves.
- No mind = real meditation. Spiritual progress requires no-mind.
- Moon–Ketu with a positive Jupiter aspect (5th, 7th or 9th) creates a superb yogā for enlightenment.
- Rahu (attachment) vs. Ketu (detachment): Moon+Rahu = mind enslaved; Moon+Ketu = mind liberated.
Rule your mind before the mind rules over you.— Gautama Buddha
Exaltation = Maturity
- Exaltation means a planet has matured and is ready to pay you both principal karmic results and “interest”(blessings).
- Exalted planets bring wisdom, love, satisfaction and joy.
- Debilitated planets often fuel greed and hollow success.
Ketu is inherently exalted in Pisces—the 12th sign and house of liberation (mokṣa). Its maturity naturally leads the soul beyond the cycle of birth and death.
The Healer’s Story: Moon–Ketu in Pisces
I once discovered that a renowned healer whom I deeply admire was born with Moon conjunct Ketu in Pisces—Ketu’s place of exaltation. Before casting his chart, I “just knew” it must be so. That powerful confirmation reminded me: exalted Ketu–Moon can work miracles, especially when guided by Jupiter’s grace.
Spiritual Essence of Ketu–Moon
- Healing Conjunction
- A Moon Ketu conjunction is a Śiva yoga, not poison. Ketu extinguishes mental turbulence, opening the way to inner stillness.
- Beyond Mind
- Sex unites bodies; love unites hearts; prayer connects souls; meditation dissolves even the self. Ketu unlocks the prison of mind, revealing no-mind freedom.
- Maturity, Not Ego
- Moon–Jupiter can harden the mind with righteous zeal. Moon–Ketu dissolves ego, leading to genuine humility and surrender.
- Divine Guidance
- Worship Lord Gaṇeśa and Lord Śiva daily. A simple remedy: Om Gam Ganapataye Namah Written or chanted often, this soothes the mind Ketu disturbs.
The Master’s Teaching: Silence and Surrender
- Avatar Meher Bābā taught that “a mind that is fast is sick; a mind that is slow is sound; a mind that is still is divine.”
- Surrender at the feet of your Guru or beloved deity, offering faith and patience rather than gold or ritual.
- “Fear the mind; master the mind.” The only true danger is mental restlessness.
Do not listen to the voice of mind; listen to the voice of heart.— Avatar Meher Bābā
Practice for Moon–Ketu Hosts
- Daily Meditation: Sit quietly, observing thoughts like leaves on a river. Do not engage—let them settle.
- Chant Gaṇeśa’s Mantra: Om Gam Ganapataye Namah Keep a prayer bead or sacred object in your pocket as a reminder.
- Cultivate Detachment: Pursue life’s duties, but reserve time each day to simply “be”—no plans, no goals, just presence.
- Gratitude: Thank your beloved Master in thought or word, trusting that your guidance is perfect.
Namaste. May the blessed Moon–Ketu conjunction within your chart be your portal to profound inner freedom—turning mind into stillness, and thought into pure being.
