Dog or Cat? Astrology’s Secret Remedy for Wealth, Protection, Prosperity

Namaste. Dogs are so cute and cats are also so cute. Many people think that cats are negative. But that is a myth. Cats are connected to goddess Lakshmi. If you go to any temple of any goddess, you will definitely find either a black cat or a white cat. So cats are very much connected with the feminine power.

In this blog I have explained that how cat or dog can actually benefit you. How they can help you in overcoming certain challenges of your life. Whether it is finance, whether it is health, whether it is career or whether it is relationship. Also I have revealed the planet that signify dog and cat, and on the nakshatras that you should adopt cat or dog.

Yesterday, Moan came to me with a simple yet profound question. Astrologically, which pet is better to keep, a cat or a dog? I smiled at his question and said, “Sit down, my friend, and listen. Either a black dog or a white cat, both are beautiful choices.”

Astrology reveals subtle truths. If you are struggling with wealth, if finances seem blocked, then bringing home a white cat, loving her with all your heart and caring for her with sincerity will help remove those financial hurdles. But the love must be real, not mechanical. Only love that flows straight from the heart carries divine power.

If however you are seeking protection, protection from black magic attacks, protection from negative people, strength, recognition and good health, then a black dog is your best companion. A dog is a complete blessing. He supports not only your career and business but every dimension of your life. A cat though is especially beneficial when your struggle is focused on money. If one is not fond of cats, then even a female dog can serve as a powerful alternative remedy to counter financial problems.

In truth, pets themselves are a deep subject in astrology. A cat embodies the qualities of a Brahman, a priest. Cats are priestly, Venusian, connected to Lakshmi and prosperity. Many a times if you are a Hindu and if you visit a goddess temple, goddess Lakshmi, goddess Durga, you will see a cat or probably many cats in and around the temple of the goddess. A dog embodies the qualities of a Kshatriya, warrior-like, Marsian, symbolizing courage and loyalty. Thus the dog is Mars, the cat is Venus.

It is a myth that people allocate Rahu to dog. My friends, Rahu is just a smoke. Do you really believe that a beautiful dog can represent Rahu or Rahu can represent your beautiful dog? That’s impossible. Dog is a Kshatriya, a Marsian, a protector. How can dog connect with Rahu? Dog is not Rahu, my fellows. Dog is Mars and cat is Venus. And Venus remember is not just love. It is also the divine feminine, the Lakshmi that blesses your home. And that is why keeping a white cat is always auspicious especially if you are facing financial troubles.

And history too whispers this truth. Before Christianity spread across Europe, temples of Venus the goddess stood tall. People worshiped her as we worship Lakshmi in our land. To this day, Venus represents the Brahmin energy, not Jupiter. Jupiter is a very high-level planet. It is far beyond. It represents the enlightened beings, the Buddhas, the Mahaviras, the Gurunanaks, the awakened ones who walk the path of enlightenment.

This reminds me of a story. When Buddha was yet to attain enlightenment, he walked with his disciples through a forest. A mosquito burst near his ear and instinctively his hand swatted it away. After a while, Buddha stopped and again moved his hand slowly near his ear, though there was no mosquito. Surprised, Ananda asked, “Master, why this act when there is no insect?” Buddha smiled and said, “The first time my hand moved mechanically without awareness, but now I moved it again. This time with complete awareness.” The message is clear. Every action must arise through awareness.

So too with pets. Keeping a pet is good karma. But caring for them consciously, feeding, nurturing, protecting is what elevates the karma to divine grace. A female cat brings wealth. A female dog too can remove financial struggles. A male dog is auspicious for all aspects, finance, health, career and protection. Ultimately, it is your choice.

Personally, I have always loved dogs. I never had the chance to keep one for I live like a fakir, a wandering nomad. But I recall a great master I once knew who had a black dog. Though he himself lived simply, he ensured that dog was always fed with the best food. His disciples, though vegetarian, would lovingly feed the dog non-vegetarian meals just so the animal remained happy. The master would laugh and say this dog in his past life was a great warrior close to the king. And indeed it is true, dogs and cats like all animals often carry past life karmas. Many were once human beings, great souls, but karma spares no one. They have returned in these forms to balance their past.

That is why Bhagavan Raman Maharishi loved all animals in his ashram. When disciples gave only leftover food to the dogs and cats, he gently corrected them. If you feel they may not like leftovers, then why give them at all? And from that day onward, separate meals were cooked for the animals with love and respect.

My friends, the sutra of life is simple. Love animals, feed them with love, and God will feed you with his infinite grace. For just as you care for your pet, God cares for you, his child. Remember, we are not small, we are the children of God. Our inheritance is vast, our potential divine. If you plan to adopt, choose wisely.

Adopt a cat when the moon is in Bharani Nakshatra or when the moon is in Purva Ashadha or Purva Phalguni Nakshatra because these three nakshatras belong to Venus and cat is Venus, Lakshmi. Adopt a dog when the moon is in Mriga Nakshatra or Dhanishta Nakshatra or Chitra Nakshatra because these three nakshatras belong to Mars, and dog is Mars and not Rahu.

Do this and your pet will bring immense blessings into your life. And to all those who already care for these innocent beings, I bow to you. For I know how much it takes to nurture them. Their innocence draws God closer to them and to you. Never hurt an animal, my fellows. Never hurt an animal because God is watching and he blesses those who bless his creation. Love them and through them love God. For in every wagging tail and in every purring heart, God himself whispers, “I am with you.”

Love to each one of you. And if you have a dog or a cat, then I must say you are indeed a beautiful human being.

Jai Shri Ganesha, Jai Guru.
