A few days ago, a person asked a question: What lessons does God want me to learn if Ketu is in my second house and Rahu is in my eighth house?
So understand the question first. In this question, the question that he has asked—he writes, “What lessons does God want me to learn if Ketu is in my second house and Rahu is in my eighth house?” So the essence of this question is that the questioner is thinking that God wants him to learn some lessons because of a certain position of Ketu and Rahu in his chart.
So the counter question comes: Is this real? Does God want somebody to learn some lessons? And if that is the case, then who is God? Where is God? What is God?
I took this question because I actually like this question. I could feel the innocence. Some questions, when they come from your heart, no matter how silly they may sound, there is a lot of depth in them.
In the first part, I have talked about: where is God? What is God?
And then I have talked about Ketu in the second and Rahu in the eighth house.
It is also said that enlightenment is also accidental. Nobody plans on which day I am going to get enlightened. But the person keeps trying, remains consistent on his path. And then someday—and those moments are very strange moments—you may be just walking in the garden, and it may happen. Enlightenment is always accidental.
Where is God?
If you cannot find God within you, then you will not find God in the temple. And if you are able to find God within you, then no matter where you go, you will find God everywhere. If you are worshipping a plain black stone with utmost devotion, then a time would come, a day would come, when the same black stone would transform into a miraculous stone, into the greatest idol.
The Source is not on the outside. The Source is within you. And that is exactly what Jesus Christ has said: The kingdom of God is within you and all around you, not in mentions of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift a stone, and you will find me. Jesus says: The kingdom of God is within you.
Everything is within you. God is within you. Devil is also within you. Hell is also within you. Heaven is also within you. And every day, every moment, you experience hell and heaven.
A Zen Master’s Teaching
Once the Emperor of Japan asked a Zen master, “What is Hell and what is Heaven?”
The Zen master looked at the Emperor and said, “You son of a… Have you looked at your face in the mirror lately? I have never seen such a dirty-looking fellow before.”
The Emperor was enraged. He had not expected such a thing from such a great saint. You don’t know great saints—you know only small penny saints. A real saint is not a cat—he is a tiger. He is fearless.
The Emperor was so enraged that he pulled his sword out of its sheath. He was going to cut the head of the Master.
Just as the sword was coming closer, the master said, “Wait! You are entering hell. This is the gate to hell.”
The way the master said “Wait” was so powerful that the Emperor’s hand stopped in the middle. And he understood—true. He threw the sword away, fell at the feet of the master.
And the master laughed and said, “This is the way to heaven. You have already experienced both within a single moment.” The distance is not far.
Whenever you are surrendered to existence, whenever you live in trust, in love, prayers, joy, celebration—you are in heaven. Love is the way to heaven. Only love.
The Little Girl and Buddha
That reminds me of a very old incident. It happened when Buddha was alive. There was a little girl, and she lived in a small village. Buddha came to her village, and the whole village gathered around Buddha. People waited to hear the golden words of Buddha. Buddha spoke and people listened.
Amongst those people, this little girl was also present. And she could see Buddha—his glowing face, his compassionate eyes. She could hear his soft voice. So much was she engrossed in his words that when his discourse was over, people started to leave for their homes, but only this little girl remained. Nobody came ahead, but this little girl stepped ahead. She rushed towards Buddha’s feet. With her flowing tears, she washed the feet of the Master.
And then she said, “Initiate me, O Master, initiate me. I have been waiting for you for many months and years. I have been praying to God to have a glimpse of you. And finally, you have come. I am truly touched by your omnipresence. Please take me with you now. I cannot live without you.”
Buddha smiled. He raised her up, kissed on her forehead, and said, “The road is long and I am getting old. I have come to this village because I had been receiving your prayers. I could feel your love, your devotion. I have come for you. But I cannot take you with me. I need not be with you in physical form. This physical form is just a dream. Do not worry, I am with you.”
That night when Buddha reached the other village, Ananda—his closest disciple—asked, “Master, how do you decide your journeys?”
And Buddha looked into Ananda’s eyes and said, “My feet move towards that man and that woman who are thirsty for my love. To me, it doesn’t matter whether that man or woman is a king or a beggar. What matters to me is his love, his devotion, his faith. That is how my journeys happen. It is not me—it is my devotees that decide the course of my journeys.”
What Is God?
So the question remains: What is God?
And I say to you—God is Love. God is not a person. God is not some man sitting on a golden throne beyond the clouds. That picture is for children. That God is a myth created to help religious businessmen sell their religion. That God is not real.
The real God is the fragrance of love, the essence of compassion, the light of awareness. God is within you. And you have known Him many times. You may not have realized—but whenever you loved without any expectation, you touched God.
Whenever you forgave someone from your heart, you came closer to God.
Whenever you helped someone in their darkest moment, you became God for them.
Love, Compassion, Forgiveness, Surrender, Meditation—these are the real gates through which God is experienced. The more you live through your heart, the closer you come to God.
Ketu in the Second House and Rahu in the Eighth House
Actual chart combination.
Ketu in the second house and Rahu in the eighth house—this is a mystic axis. This is the axis of renunciation and transformation. It is an intense placement. One of the most karmic placements in astrology. This combination indicates a person who in his past life had attained a certain level of material wealth but had failed to find inner fulfillment. And so in this life, the soul is forced to experience deep inner transformation—often through sudden events, losses, and mystical experiences.
Rahu in the eighth house brings a deep desire to understand the secrets of life and death, of the occult, tantra, mysticism, and hidden knowledge. It is often seen in the charts of those who become astrologers, occultists, tantriks, or mystic seekers.
Ketu in the second house means you are carrying forward a certain detachment from material possessions, from family and speech. You may be misunderstood by your family. You may not speak much. And even if you do, your words are often sharp, intense, or philosophical. Your attachment to material security is being challenged. You may earn well and yet feel empty. You may eat good food and still feel a certain tastelessness.
Ketu is teaching you to go beyond the illusion of security. And Rahu is pushing you into the darkness of the eighth house—so that you learn to find the light within. Many such natives go through sudden spiritual awakenings—often triggered by trauma, loss, or deep emotional crisis.
This axis shows that the soul is maturing. It is no longer running behind social prestige, money, or family validation. It is being prepared for a higher life. The person often feels lonely—not because there is nobody around—but because the person is moving inward. The whole journey is turning inwards.
If you have this placement, know that you are not an ordinary soul. You are chosen for a higher path. And that path may seem lonely at times, painful at times—but it is the path that leads to true liberation.
A question was asked: “What lessons does God want me to learn if Ketu is in my second house and Rahu is in my eighth house?”
And I say—God does not want anything from you. God has no desires. But Existence wants you to awaken. The Universe is using this Rahu-Ketu axis to shake you, break you, and make you—into something deeper, more conscious, more free.
Don’t resist the changes. Don’t fear the darkness. The real light is not outside—it is within. Only those who walk through darkness can reach the light. Rahu in the eighth house takes you through that darkness. Ketu in the second house takes away the fake light. So that, one day, you discover the eternal light—within.
Surrender to the process. Meditate every day. Trust the journey. And remember: You are not alone. God is not outside. He is within you—as your breath, as your love, as your awareness.
When you are aware, you are divine. And when you are divine, there is nothing left to fear.
